Occupational Therapy Services
At STP Physical & Occupational Therapy, we provide individualized, goal-driven occupational therapy services for adults of all ages. Whether recovering from surgery, managing a chronic or neurological condition, or facing difficulty with everyday activities, our occupational therapists are here to help restore function and independence.
We support recovery after orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries including hand, wrist, shoulder, hip, and knee procedures. Our OTs guide patients through safe movement, scar management, swelling reduction, and return to daily tasks like dressing, grooming, and cooking. Customized splinting is also available when needed.
For clients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or chronic musculoskeletal pain, we focus on joint protection strategies, energy conservation techniques, adaptive tools, and pain-reducing modalities. The goal is to help clients remain independent in home and work routines despite discomfort.
We work with individuals affected by stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological diagnoses. Treatment may include motor retraining, compensatory techniques, vision therapy, fine motor strengthening, and cognitive rehab to enhance function in meaningful life activities.
For individuals experiencing memory loss, executive functioning issues, or attention deficits due to injury, illness, or aging, our therapists provide exercises and strategies for improving focus, task initiation, organization, and problem-solving. We simulate real-life tasks such as medication management, budgeting, or scheduling appointments to support safe, independent living.
We help adults improve hand strength, finger dexterity, and coordination for essential tasks like buttoning clothing, handwriting, typing, meal prep, and managing medication bottles. This service is especially beneficial after hand injuries, fractures, or neurological decline.
For clients with difficulty judging space, depth, or coordinating vision with hand movements, we offer customized training for safety in mobility, driving, and completing detailed tasks. These skills are essential for reading, meal prep, and home maintenance.
Our therapists fabricate custom static and dynamic splints to support recovery from hand, wrist, and finger injuries or surgeries, reduce pain, protect healing structures, and improve alignment and function. These are tailored to client needs and physician recommendations.
Our occupational therapists offer specialized hand therapy to help individuals recover from injuries, surgeries, or conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. This service is ideal for patients recovering from carpal tunnel syndrome, tendon and nerve repairs, fractures, arthritis, or repetitive strain injuries. Treatment focuses on reducing pain and swelling, improving strength and flexibility, and restoring fine motor skills to help patients return to daily activities, work tasks, or recreational interests with confidence and comfort.
We evaluate your home environment for risks such as fall hazards or limited accessibility. Based on your needs, we recommend grab bars, shower benches, reachers, kitchen aids, or medication organizers, and train you on their proper use.
We help individuals re-learn or improve basic and complex life skills like bathing, dressing, toileting, grocery shopping, using public transportation, meal preparation, and budgeting. These skills are essential for those recovering from injury, illness, or transitioning to independent living.
